Peter Huy grew up right outside of Toledo, Ohio. He attended St. John’s Jesuit High School, where he distinguished himself through extensive community service and as a member of the National Honor Society. After graduating with high honors, Mr. Huy attended Miami University in Oxford on scholarship where he majored in Systems Analysis. While attending Miami University, Mr. Huy worked for a technology based consultancy firm where he provided technical support to students and faculty, and supervision and training of student technicians. As a direct result of his hard work, the University honored Mr. Huy with two awards of excellence, achievement, and leadership.
After graduation, Mr. Huy chose to attend the University of Miami School of Law. He excelled in law school, graduating cum laude and earning distinction in his legal research and writing courses. While in law school, Mr. Huy refined his legal skills in his tenure as a research assistant to Professor Michael Froomkin, performing research and conducting analysis of matters related to internet governance, electronic democracy, e-commerce, cryptology, and privacy. During his summers, Mr. Huy honed his litigation skills at the Miami-Dade County Public Defender’s Office.
Mr. Huy joined the firm in 2007. He focuses his practice in general civil litigation, mortgage foreclosure defense, secured transactions, construction law and pre-construction deposit forfeiture defense.
